Family Practice and Sports Medicine
Dr. Joseph Atkin is board certified in family medicine and nonsurgical sports medicine. His practice includes all aspects of family and sports medicine including pediatrics, procedural medicine, and specialty musculoskeletal diagnostics and treatment. He has served as a team physician for many high school, college, and professional teams, including The Philadelphia Phillies and The Clearwater Threshers, as well as NASCAR at Daytona International Speedway. He has also worked with The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, The Tampa Bay Storm, and USA Boxing.
Dr. Atkin’s love of physical activity extends beyond his practice. He enjoys spending his free time with his wife and two children, exerting as much energy as possible in the mountains or at any beach they can find.
Originally from Salt Lake City he received his Medical degree from the University of Utah. He completed residency training in Family Medicine in Daytona Beach Florida at Halifax Medical Center, a Florida State University affiliate. He then completed a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the University of South Florida, in Tampa Florida.
